Tenants’ Rights

San Diego Housing Commission published a Tenant Protection Guide (June 2023) to explain the new Tenant Protection Ordinance, effective June 24, 2023, for tenants residing in the city of San Diego.

CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE STATEMENT OF TENANT RIGHTS: In October 2022, the Attorney General for the State of California released this list of tenant rights which exist for all California tenants. Additional rights may exist at the local level.
